Studio 60 - Widmer End

Trying to get more modelling work but need a local place to shoot that wont cost me a fortune - so with that in mind booked a test shoot at studio 60 in Widmer End, Bucks. Rather than take a model and have the added expense I decided to let my daughter, Anya, have her first studio shoot even though she is only 8 -

Been a long Time

Cant believe it has been six months since I last posted on my blog - where has the time gone??

Hopefully 2011 will be a better year and the photography oppurtunities will grow and I can make some money.

Toward the end of last year I met some new friends and had the chance to get back into my old hobby of motorcycle racing - This picture is of Joshua Brookes taken at Oulton Park, last round of British superbikes 2010.

Aimee Curry Shoot

Had my first real Location shoot last week and I think it went really well - Never gonna win any awards but I learnt a lot and hopefully I can bring some of that knowledge to the shoot I have this weekend and improve on my results :)

Looking forward to Holiday

At last I have the chance to sit down and post something to my blog. The last couple of weeks have been spent editing pictures from a shoot I did in May and although hard work I feel I have learnt loads and that my pictures are becoming a little more than just snapshots. Friday Evening was an opportunity to get back behind the camera and do a quick test shot at a local park with the view to doing another shoot in a month or so with some solid ideas and a better location in place. Hopefully Tracy will love the images I give her and when I return from a few weeks in Portugal we can work together again with better results.

Just finished editing some pictures from photo shoot I did last week but unfortunately due to the nature of the shoot they are not really suitable for posting on my blog (sorry guys). However last saturday I did have the great pleasure of spending the day at Whf in Ashford, Kent, and managed to get some fantastic shots of some magnificent cats.

Nothing is ever what you think it is gonna be and nothing ever goes easy. Saturdays shoot proved that. Seven models booked and only three show up. Waste of time? Yes and no. I think I learnt more from Saturday then any other shoot I have been on. As many emotions as you can possibly pick all crammed into one day - I am glad it over?- definitely - would I do it again? - definitely - Will I make the same mistakes again? - only time will tell.

5 more sleeps and the second Nottingham Development Day, this time organised by myself, will be upon us. All models come from http://www.tfpmodels.co.uk/ and http://www.modelmayhem.com/ and with seven confirmed I am hoping for some great results. The first one was back in February and it turned out to be a great sucess, so much so that I decided we do a second one. It was my first ever studio day and but I was in the capable hands of Dr Caligari who unfortunately cant make it to this one. He was an absolute pleasure to work with and I could not have asked for a better teacher.

I am not 100 % sure of the full story as to how Danni arrived at the shoot and how much experience she had before the day. All I can say is that she did an amazing job on the day and was a natural in front of the camera and made my job easier with her easy going personality and professional manner. She was my first choice of model when organising the second day.

Hopefully it wont be long before I can start to post some new shots from the new event but for now I will leave you with one from February.
